Remote I/O Modules
Advantech is a global leader in remote IO module, offering complete stand-alone data acquisition modules which are broadly used in IoT or other industrial applications, such as facility monitoring, environment monitoring, and industrial process control. Advantech distributed remote IO modules are categorized into two families, Ethernet IO (ADAM-6000 series) and RS-485 IO (ADAM-4000 series), which are subdivided into Analog IO and Digital IO modules. Some of them support Modbus rtu communication protocol.
RS-485 I/O Modules: ADAM-4000
Advantech’s RS-485 I/O Modules, ADAM-4000 series, are the perfect choice for establishing a cost-effective remote I/O system. Customers can benefit from ADAM-4000 modules through its simple wiring using only two wires to communicate with their controller or other RS-485 devices. ADAM-4000 modules use the EIA RS-485 communication protocol; the industry's most widely used bi-directional, balanced transmission line suitable for industrial environments.
Robust Remote I/O Modules
ADAM-4100 series I/O modules are compact and versatile sensor-to-computer interface units. They are designed for reliable operation in harsh environments, and can operate normally in wide temperatures from -40 to 85°C, with wide power input and resistance against noise-interference.

ADAM-4000 controllers include the ADAM-4500, ADAM-4501, and ADAM-4502. The ADAM-4501 is a proportional-integral-derivative controller (PID controller) with an x86 CPU architecture, which supports not only an Ethernet interface but also serial ports. The Ethernet-enabled features include built-in HTTP Server, FTP Server and email alarm functions. The modularized I/O design provides high flexibility for versatile application requirements.
The ADAM-4500 is a fully functional, stand-alone controller for industrial automation and control. Its built-in ROM-/DOS (MS-DOS equivalent) operating system lets the user run either standard PC language development tools. One of its two communication ports can be configured as an RS-232 or RS-485 port, depending on jumper settings. The other port is a dedicated RS-485 port, allowing the controller to function in 2-wire, multi-drop RS-485 networks. With communication speeds up to 115.2 Kbps, a real-time clock, a watchdog timer, 256 K ROM, 256 K RAM, and panel or DIN-rail mounting, this device is a flexible, powerful unit in a small package.
The ADAM-4501/4501D consists of compact-sized Ethernet-enabled communication controllers with a x86 CPU architecture. They support not only an Ethernet interface but also 4 serial ports, which makes them very suitable for industrial communication and control applications. The Ethernet-enabled features include built-in HTTP Server, FTP Server and email alarm functions. The modularized I/O design provides high flexibility for versatile application requirements. The ADAM-4501/4501D also supports rich Modbus function libraries including Modbus/RTU (Master/Slave) and Modbus/TCP (Server/Client) function libraries.
With its modular design, ADAM-4502 has all the same functionality as ADAM-4501, but provides different I/O options. The ADAM-4502 provides one Ethernet interface and 4 serial ports module, but also features 1 analog input, 1 analog output, 2 digital inputs and 2 digital outputs. This versatility allows users to implement rich interfaces for different applications
ANALOG I/O MODULES
Analog input modules provide various sources of input, such as thermocouple, RTD, thermistor or general analog signals. These modules use EIA RS-485 communication protocol – the widely used bi-directional, balanced transmission line standard in the industry. ADAM-4000 supports Modbus / RTU protocol as a remote data transmission mechanism as well.

Ethernet I/O Modules: ADAM-6000
Advantech's Ethernet I/O Modules, ADAM-6000 series, accomplishes this integration easily through the latest internet technology, so that it can remotely monitor the device status more flexibly. ADAM-6000 modules are empowered by Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Graphic Condition Logic (GCL), and can perform as standalone products for measurement, control and automation wiith Advantech's P2P and GCL technology. With the easy-to-use and intuitive graphic utility, system configurations can be done in an extremely short time. DIGITAL I/O MODULES
Digital input / output modules provide three operation modes – counter, frequency, and relay modules. Each on-module channel can be set with exclusive operation mode individually. Counter / frequency modules provide two 32-bit-counter channels and a built-in programmable timer for frequency measurement. Relay modules provide six standalone digital input channels and six independent relay channels.
